What is Air Pollution?
Air pollution is when air contains harmful pollutants such as gases, fumes, smoke, and dust.
Here are some types of air pollutants.
Smog- Smoke and Fog combination. This type of air pollution is usually caused by factories, and chimneys.
Accidental Air Pollution- This type of Air pollution is caused by nature such as the gases emitted into our air by forest fires, or nuclear plants leaking.
Industrial Air Pollution- Caused by thermal plants or the plants that create different types of pesticides. It is also commonly caused by any toxic materials being made.
Transport Related Air Pollution- Smoke from any vehicles that use diesel as fuel.
Acid Rain- Acid rain is when precipitation contains high amounts of nitric and sulfuric acid. This is caused when fossil fuels are burned. This damages lakes by making the water unsafe for aquatic life. Acid rain erodes buildings and statues and damages soil and plants.
Haze- Fog, and mist
Eutrophication- too much nutrients in soil from runoff which causes lack of plant growth and lack of oxygen

What are the effects of Air pollution on our environment and our people?
If you are exposed to air pollution for a while, it will have the same effects on you as if you were a smoker. Air Pollution can weaken your immune system, cause respiratory issues (or worsen them if you already have them), increase heart attack risk, and might even cause cancer.
